The Firestone Public Works Department hosted its 16th annual Cleanup Day on May 6, 2017. Over the years, the event has evolved into more than just a chance for Firestone residents to have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items. Cleanup Day has become a true community event and a great opportunity to take a break from the work and enjoy free hamburgers, hotdogs, lemonade, etc. and great conversation in the Public Works building. Many members of the Town Board and staff volunteered their time to help out at the event. This year was the largest number of drop-off trips ever, as the event surpassed over 2,000 loads. Also, the Frederick High School Booster Club teamed up with ARC and retrieved over a semi-trailer load of usable goods at the event for their joint community efforts.
