Day of Service Volunteer Program

Friends of Firestone - Day of Service 2023The Town of Firestone’s first annual Friends of Firestone - Day of Service project aims to bring volunteers and neighbors together to help homeowners needing minor exterior home repairs, painting, and general yard clean-up and cannot afford to hire a commercial company to provide these services.

Join us on Saturday, September 23, 2023, and help launch this exciting program!

Sign up as a team!

  • Recruit 8 to 15 volunteers (from your office, church, club, sports team, family, etc.)
  • Don’t have a group but want to join in? Great! We’ll add you to a group that needs extra hands.

Your role as a volunteer:

  • Show up on Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Wear weather-appropriate working attire and shoes
  • Help complete much-needed home repair, painting, or yard work for a resident in need
  • Enjoy lunch on us!

Day of Service projects are active work sites, and we require direct parental/guardian supervision for volunteers younger than the age of 14.

What we do:

  • Ensure the homeowner meets qualification guidelines
  • Assess the property and project ahead of time
  • Supply the tools and materials
  • Assign a project to each volunteer group
  • Supervise the work and inspect completed projects
  • Provide lunch, water, and t-shirts!
