The holiday season is upon us. So whether buying gifts, gathering with family and friends, planning holiday meals, or buying a few things for your home, we encourage you to support the businesses of Firestone and Shop Local, Shop Small.

You might not realize it, but every time you pick up a cup of coffee from your favorite neighborhood shop, get a haircut and buy hair products, or buy a gift from a local artist's online store, you're shopping small and making a difference. Every dollar you spend with a local small business has a significant economic impact on the Firestone community.

Small Business Saturday is the perfect time to show your support for small businesses in the Town of Firestone!

In 2010, AMEX designated the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday. Originally intended to encourage people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses, Small Business Saturday has grown and is recognized nationally, just like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and all small businesses are supported.

We hope you use Small Business Saturday to visit your favorite local small business or get to know a new one on our Support Local Business list. Let the business owners know you appreciate that they are a vital part of the Firestone community. Follow Notify Me and Facebook posts this week for reminders and additional information on how your dollars support local businesses and the community.
