This property is located on the northeast and southeast corner of Firestone Boulevard and Frontier Street and was annexed into the Town in 2001. The rezoning also included 6.17 acres of the property to Neighborhood Center (NC) at the corner of Firestone Boulevard and Frontier Street.

Traffic Signal & Pedestrian Signal Contract Approved

During Wednesday night's meeting, the Board of Trustees approved an agreement with Sturgeon Electric for construction services for the new traffic signal on Colorado Boulevard at the King Soopers access point and construction services for the HAWK pedestrian signal at Oak Meadows Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard.

Due to an expected long procurement period for the signal materials, construction is not anticipated to begin until 2023.

Historic Firestone Waterline Project Updates

On Wednesday night, in two separate actions, the Board of Trustees approved contracts for the Historic Firestone Waterline Replacement Project.

The first contract is with Northern Colorado Constructors for the construction work of the project. The projects approved in this contract include:

  • Wooster Drive and Jackson Drive water line replacement and full street reconstruction. Wooster Drive and Jackson Drive were selected as these are two of the worst-rated roads in the Town and have shallow and undersized water mains.
  • Water line replacement in the alley north of Wooster Drive.
  • Replacing all service lines serving residences along Wooster Drive and Jackson Drive.
The second contract is for construction management of the Firestone Waterline Replacement Project by Ditesco. Ditesco worked as the design engineer on the project and submitted a proposal for construction management to assist the Town during construction.

Work on the projects listed above is expected to begin in August. The contractor will deliver door hangers to impacted properties notifying them of upcoming work near them. In addition, the Town will send out notifications to the public with additional details and specific timing.
