Firestone’s Work Plan & Agency Growth Plan

During the Board of Trustees meeting on October 23, 2024, the Board of Trustees adopted the 2025-2026 Board of Trustees Work Plan. During the 2024 Retreat in September, the Board engaged in a facilitated strategic planning exercise to review and update the 2024-2025 Work Plan. Board members and staff in attendance worked with the facilitator to update the 2024-2025 Work Plan and develop the 2025-2026 Work Plan that identifies strategic goals for the Board of Trustees and provides staff with clear objectives, priorities, and timelines for upcoming projects.

“What’s really remarkable about this work plan is that it’s truly the product of a collaborative effort between our Board of Trustees and senior staff,” said Town Manager A.J. Krieger.  “Ideas were shared, objectives were established, and outcomes identified.  The plan sets ambitious goals and articulates the Board of Trustees’ vision for a service-oriented agency focused on improving our community.  I’m proud to be a part of it.”

During the same meeting, the Board of Trustees also adopted the Town’s first Agency Growth Plan. During the Board Retreat in September, Human Resources presented this plan in detail and discussed its use and creation process.

This plan will be used as a tool to guide recruitment and retention of Town Staff.  “As the Town grows, this plan will help us increase our overall staff capacity.  We know that our success as an agency is tied directly to our ability to recruit and retain top talent and to provide the highest level of service.  To do that, we need to increase our staff capacity constantly.  This plan will help us do exactly that,” Krieger said.

To establish the baseline for the plan, over the past year, Department Directors, with the support of the Human Resources department, have worked on forecasting their department’s future staffing needs based on incremental population increases. With this forecast and data from other municipalities regarding workforce and community size, a comparative analysis was done to establish an agency growth plan.
