Beginning Sunday night, August 3, a contractor for the Town of Firestone will begin upgrading traffic signals, including traffic control cabinets and detection systems, at several intersections.
Work Schedule
The upgrades will take place overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and are expected to span five nights, weather permitting. Traffic control will be in place during active work, including Uniformed Traffic Officers and Traffic Control Supervisors.
Tentative Nightly Work Plan
- Sunday, August 3: Colorado Blvd & Booth Dr – Cabinet upgrade and detection camera installation
- Monday, August 4: Finish Booth Dr, then begin detection camera installation at Colorado Blvd & Sable Ave
- Tuesday, August 5: Colorado Blvd & Sable Ave – Cabinet upgrade and detection camera installation
- Wednesday, August 6: Firestone Blvd & Oak Meadows Blvd – Cabinet upgrade and detection camera installation
- Thursday, August 7: Final detection camera work at all locations and system testing
Daytime Work
If any work is delayed or unfinished during the scheduled nights, it will be completed during the day, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Traffic Impacts
Drivers may experience minor delays at these intersections during the work. Please reduce speeds, follow posted signage, and remain alert when traveling through work zones. Once work is complete, signal timing will return to normal.
