Sharing Tree Now Up

The Firestone Police Department now has its sharing tree decorated in the lobby of their building (9900 Park Avenue, Firestone) with special ornaments that contain wishes from children enrolled in the Firestone Santa Cops Program. To participate in the sharing tree, please pick one of these special ornaments, purchase a gift for the child, wrap the gift, and affix the ornament to the package. Please return the gift to the sharing tree by Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Please note that additional ornaments will be added as families meet the program's qualifications through Friday, November 21.

The Carbon Valley Santa Cop program is still accepting referrals for families in need for the upcoming holiday season. If your family needs assistance this year or you know of a family in need, please read the informational letter and complete the application online at www.firestoneco.gov/SantaCops. Referral forms are due by Friday, November 21, 2025.

Please note that not all applicants will be accepted, as space is limited and income qualifications apply.

Other Ways to Give Back with Santa Cops

Full family sponsorship: When you sponsor an entire family, you provide gifts for each child and a gift card to a local grocery store, helping the family prepare a holiday meal. You can choose any size family that fits your budget. We kindly request that you provide each child with gifts worth at least $100.00. We will provide clothing sizes, shoe sizes, and some of the children's wishes this season. For the family grocery gift card, we request that it be for a minimum of $50.00. You may put the gift card in a Christmas card signed by your family or group. Please let us know by December 1, 2025, if you intend to sponsor a family, so one may be assigned to you.
Gift Card Donations: We often have teenage participants in our program, and they can be challenging to shop for. Gift cards are always welcome. Specialty clothing stores, Amazon, gaming cards, shoe stores, etc. Teens like to pick out their own style that fits them the best, so what better way than a gift card? Please make sure you write the amount included on the card. Gift cards to grocery stores, Wal-Mart, and Target are also welcome, as we can provide our families with a meal.
Toy Donations: Of course, it would not be Santa Cops without the toys! We accept all toys that are new, unused, and in original packaging. The most popular requests are Legos for both boys and girls, RC Cars or small drones, makeup or jewelry kits, and art supplies. We will find a place for every toy.
Other items needed: Backpacks, school supplies, toiletries, coloring books, crayons, markers, board games, and card games. We can only accept new items that are still in their original packaging.
Monetary Donations: Monetary donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Stop by the Police Department to donate or mail a check to Santa Cops, Firestone Police Department, 9900 Park Avenue, Firestone, CO 80504.

The Carbon Valley Santa Cops program is an annual event in which the Firestone and Frederick Police Departments provide a gift, warm winter clothing, and necessities to underrepresented children in the Carbon Valley area during the holiday season.
