Firestone Unveils New Playground
and Bike Repair Stations

After a brief six-week closure, the playground at Prairie Ridge Park (6440 St. Vrain Ranch Blvd.) has officially reopened, featuring a brand-new playground. Every piece of equipment was replaced, offering fresh, modern play options for kids of all ages. As part of this upgrade, a poured-in-place rubber surface was installed beneath the equipment, creating a softer and safer area to play and improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities. This inclusive design helps ensure that every child and family can enjoy the space together. And there’s more on the way! Sunshades will be installed this spring, adding much-needed comfort during those hot summer days.

The second completed project brings expanded amenities for cyclists throughout Firestone. Based on recommendations from the Parks, Trails, Recreation and Open Space Commission (PTROC), the Parks Division installed two new Bike Repair Stations in key community locations. These stations offer riders a convenient place to tune up, inflate tires, or make quick adjustments while enjoying our trails and parks.

You’ll now find Bike Repair Stations along the Firestone Trail at Memorial Park (36 Grant Ave.) and near the bathrooms at Harney Park (10245 Devonshire St.). An additional station is also available at the Bike Park & Pump Track at Mountain Shadows Park (11267 Carbondale St.), perfect for riders looking to keep their bikes in top shape.
