[ARCHIVED] Join Us For the 4th at Firestone!

4th at Firestone Parade Route 2018

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 4th at Firestone event, as we celebrate Independence Day together with friends, family, food and lots of fun!

  • A true community celebration, the day will kick off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary, followed by the Firecracker 5K race at 7:30 a.m., which is organized by the Carbon Valley Parks & Recreation District.
  • One of the area’s premier July 4th parades will step off at 10 a.m. in downtown Frederick and make its way through Historic Firestone to Miners Park, where a family-friendly festival with music, patriotic programs, a petting zoo and games will run until 4:30 p.m. A car show will be under way at the same time at Tri-Town Midas, 8100 Colorado Boulevard.
  • At noon in Miners Park, the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District Color Guard will present the colors, followed by the national anthem, led by Pastor Steve Osborn from Seventh Day Baptist Church. Mayor Bobbi Sindelar will announce the event sponsors, the winner of this year's Design-a-Flag Contest and the winners from the 4th at Firestone Parade, and the ceremony will end with recognition and thanks to area veterans. Around this time, two F-16 aircraft from the 120th Fighter Squadron, a unit of the Colorado Air National Guard 140th Wing located at Buckley Air Force Base, are expected to do a flyover, too.
  • This special day will end with an awe-inspiring fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at Central Park. Fireworks parking will open at 7 p.m., and people are welcome to bring blankets, picnics and games to enjoy while they wait. The Town will be doing mosquito control spraying at all 4th at Firestone event areas and throughout the Town tonight, July 3, but attendees might want to bring insect repellent (and water and sunscreen) with them as well.
