The Firestone Public Works department completed construction on a storm drainage project in old town in July. The project began at First Street and Wooster Avenue and went east to Second Street and then south for 500 feet.
The project consisted of installing 1,200 feet of 12-inch pipe, three inlet structures and alley sidewalk replacement to solve drainage issues in this area. With the completion of this project stagnant water is eliminated in the summer and heavy ice build-up in the winter.
