[ARCHIVED] Firestone Cultural Committee Seeking Quilters for Holiday Festival Exhibit

quilt exhibit

The Firestone Cultural Committee is seeking local quilters to exhibit their works of art at the 3rd Annual Carbon Valley Holiday Festival on Dec. 7, 2013. The communities of Firestone, Dacono and Frederick will once again team up this year to bring a day full of events from noon to 8 p.m.

The Firestone portion of the event will be from 12 to 4 p.m. at Coal Ridge Middle School, 6201 Booth Drive. It is here that quilters can take part in the festivities by displaying their quilts as part of the quilt exhibit. Quilts can be of any type, theme or style, and do not have to be specific to the holiday season. There is no entry fee required, and quilt display stands will be provided by the Cultural Committee.

Other activities planned for the Firestone activities will include the opportunity for kids to share their wish lists and have photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, make crafts and ornaments at Santa’s Workshop, and try on fireman gear and get their photos taken with the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District. Local performers will also present a selection of holiday music, and attendees can enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes throughout the afternoon.

Interested quilters should complete the quilt exhibit form on the Firestone website at or call 303-833-3291. The deadline to sign up for the quilt exhibit is Nov. 15.
